Film

- Surreal Cinema in India -

Surreal Cinema is a great art form in exploring this strange and simple, beautiful and bizarre world of humans. If not none, may be few pieces would have made it to the screen in this thoughtful and mysterious style. Akshat Ajay Sharma an upcoming film-maker made a humble attempt at telling us two of his surreal stories - 'Parabola' and 'Silence' with eye-catching imagery and was kind enough to involve me in various roles in the process of making these films.

- Parabola -

Parabola is a short film written and directed by Akshat Sharma , for which i am contributing to tell the story by doing what i can with the best of my creative skills in acting and composing music.

This project presents a good scope of experimentation as is the nature of the subject - Surrealism. As the director describes it - "Parabola is a story of a Mr. K who encounters different personas that form an ambiguous part of his life - a subconscious conundrum"

It has been an amazing journey for me going through various stages of film making, experiencing few and witnessing few - from rehearsals to shooting to discussing with the director and composing music to mixing it in the theater and watching the people working and interacting with them on the sets was very educative and a great learning experience for me.

- Silence -

In the words of the Director - "Inspired by the composition of 4'33'' of John Cage, Silence is a story of Charles, a brilliant musician trying to find solace in the quest he embarked on. A musician who realizes he ended up far from where he wanted to be."

Silence is my personal favorite of Akshat's works. I like the whole treatment given to it. The cinematography by Siddarth and music by George Hull and Keith D'Rozario gave a special touch to the film.

Check out more about Silence on imdb and facebook.

Akshat is not only a great visionary in film direction but also a Poet rooted in philosophy and often inspired by life events. His poetry is lauded by many and i find his work gripping. Do check out his blog to see his other film projects and accomplishments over the years.
